The Reds keyboard player, Bruce Cohen, has a brand new side project in a totally different genre. Bruce, along with Rik Myers (guitar), and Brandon Cruz (drums), have put together a heavy, psychedelic, Hammond organ jazz trio, called BIG FUN 3.
The blueprints for the band are The Tony Williams Lifetime, and late ’60s to early ’70s Miles Davis, with a little King Crimson thrown in. Big Fun 3′s mission is to explore and expand the possibilities of the organ/guitar/drum trio, then taking it as far out as possible.
The Miami based jazz trio recently signed with ROPEADOPE RECORDS, and their first album is scheduled for release in 2010.
